Who is this for? #
A fine arts teacher who wants to use a modern, easy-to-use tool to manage their organization's student/parent data, inventory, library, uniforms, payments, email, and more!
Detailed steps #
- Create your Presto user profile from the signup page (link). Choose the Director option.
Choose the Director role on the next page.
- Add your email address, a strong password, and read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. If everything looks correct, then press the submit button and again in the confirmation dialog.
- You will use the email address provided in this step to sign in to Presto.
- Make sure you see Director at the top of the form (highlighted in green in the image below).
- Verify your email by clicking the “magic link” we sent to the email address you provided. This link expires after 48 hours, and it's only good for use ONE TIME. Safety first!
- Provide information about your organization.
- Complete the Profile Info form. The gender and date of birth fields are optional for adults.
- Complete Contact Info form.
- Review information about including Presto Assistant in your district's Technology Acceptable Use Policy. This document is also available to download later in the Settings page in your Director view.
- You are all set up and ready to go!
Next steps #
- All Presto Assistant organizations must belong to a District. If your organization doesn’t belong to a district yet, then click on the link on your Presto Assistant Dashboard to invite your District Administrator. If your district doesn’t have a District Administrator for Fine Arts, then contact us at support@presto-assistant.com, and we can help!
- Head to the Directors page to invite any Assistant Directors that work with your program.
- Import Student, Inventory, Library, and Uniform data in those areas of the Presto Assistant app using our handy templates. In the Presto Assistant system, students should have separate email addresses from their parents. If your district has an email system set up, that would be a good email to use for students in Presto Assistant!
- If you use Google Calendar, you can sync up with Presto Assistant and choose which calendars are visible to parents and students.
- When you have your student and parent data ready to go, head to Organization Settings and send the “Welcome Email” to all members to start setting up their Presto Assistant user profiles. Reminder: students should have separate emails from parents.
